Anderson Ara

Anderson Ara holds a bachelor’s degree (2009) and a master’s degree (2011) in Statistics, both obtained at the Federal University of São Carlos (UFSCar). He completed his Ph.D. in Statistics (2016) through the Postgraduate Programs in Statistics (PPGEst-UFSCar) and Computer Science (PPGCC-UFSCar)

Eduardo Cunha de Almeida is an Associate Professor at the Federal University of Paraná (UFPR). His research interest is in database systems and data management. His research projects granted publications in steemed journals and conferences like the VLDB and ICDE.

He completed his Ph.D. in Computer Science at Université du Quebec in 2003. He has supervised and co-supervised more than 40 students (master’s, doctoral, and postdoctoral) and has published over 240 articles in specialized journals and international conference proceedings. In 2003, he received the Excellence Award for the best doctoral thesis from ETS/Université du Quebec, and in 2017, he was honored with the IBM Faculty Awards. He primarily works in the following research areas: pattern recognition, machine learning, and computer vision.

Obtained a bachelor’s degree in Computer Science from UNESP in 2006 and holds a master’s and a Ph.D. in Computer Science from UFRGS, completed in 2009 and 2014, respectively. He worked as a postdoctoral researcher at UFRGS from 2014 to 2016. Since 2016, he has been an Associate Professor at UFPR in the Department of Informatics, where he is responsible for teaching courses on computer architecture and parallel programming.

He holds a Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering from UEPG (2012) and a Ph.D. in Computer Science (2017) from the UFPR. His research is focused on Machine Learning and has influenced the creation of algorithms and benchmarks used by the machine learning community, such as the Dynse Framework used in MOA and the PKLot Dataset.

He is a Researcher and Lecturer of the Department of Statistics at Paraná Federal University – UFPR, where he has been since 2010. He received a B.S. from UFPR in 2008 and an M.S. from the UFPR in 2010. He received his Ph.D. in Mathematics and Computer Science from the University of Southern Denmark in 2016.

Associate professor at the Department of Statistics at the UFPR since 2010. He teaches Computational Statistics as part of the Bachelor’s program in Statistics and various subjects within the Data Science and Big Data Specialization. Additionally, he has experience teaching Elementary Statistics and Applied Statistics, particularly focusing on data analysis.
